Vinegar (along with hydrogen peroxide) at room temperature are not nearly as effective as bleach.
Unless you use vinegar full strength (undiluted) and at 130 degrees F, you'll fail to kill any listeria and E. coli in your RV water system. However, room temperature vinegar (and hydrogen peroxide) will kill salmonella.
On the other hand, 1/4 cup of bleach per 15 gal (that's 50ppm) at room temperature eradicates listeria, E. coli, and salmonella.
