Good idea. Not only cheaper, and it won't walk away in the middle of the night.
I installed the hard wired with display in the Spring of 2014 after getting zapped with 240V at a newly installed pedestal. Since then it has diagnosed power problems twice.

hadn't considered the theft angle...we've only had one theft since 1986 and that was when we were away from the campsite. I was thinking more like it's one less thing to do when setting up or breaking camp.
