I bought my first Weber Q100 in 2002 and used it both for camping and here at the house for 8 years, then sold it for a Q120 which I still use to this day for camping, have a Q220 for use at the house. When camping the Q100 and Q120 always sit on the campsite picnic table, never any issues with "scorching" at all in all those years. :B
