Propane Not Flowing

Question

I have a new-to-me 1998 Jamboree with only 20,000 miles. It’s in very good condition as you might imagine, but it also has some age-related issues. I’ve dealt with the tires and hoses, but I’m now facing a no-propane problem. Tank is newly full. I didn’t see anything obvious on the underside. Neither the stove nor the hot water heater seem to be getting any gas. The fridge works on AC but won’t light on gas.

All of which is to say that I’m guessing it’s just an old regulator. It is a Marshall 605h which seems to have a replacement of Camco 59323.

Any other things I should be checking? Any advice on replacing it?

It might have a propane detector near the floor with an on-off switch. Turn the switch on and it allows propane flow into the coach.

There is a safety feature in the propane system that will stop the flow in the event of a sudden fast flow, such as a propane line being suddenly severed in an accident or something.

It is possible to trigger this by opening the propane valve quickly. I know, because I did it once. Couldn't figure out why I had no gas to anything.

Try shutting the propane off, remove the hose from the bottle(s), then reinstall them in the usual fashion, then open the tank valve slowly.

It's worth a shot before you go replacing things.

Thanks. I’ll check the propane leak detector. Unfortunately it’s a class c so it doesn’t have readily detachable bottles.

I’ll also close the propane and come back to it in a while, opening slowly. Not the same as removing the tank, but the best I can do before my new regulator arrives. With supply chain disruption, I decided not to wait to order it.
