Propane tank pigtails

Question

My trailers propane tank came equipped with a pigtail that has a 1/2" male fitting connected to the tank regulator, which is also 1/2". The hose has developed a slow leak at one end. I purchased a new pigtail at Camping World, but it has a 1/4" male end on it. I have been trying to find a coupler/reducer for this, but have had no luck. Any suggestions??

This is the normal adapter. Regulators have female pipe thread and the hoses have a male inverted flair.

Take it back and exchange for the correct hose.  CW has the Acme Nut x 1/4" Inverted Male Flare in several lengths.http://www.campingworld.com/search/?keyword=propane+acme+flexible+pigtail+hose

Your replies are much appreciated. I already have the CW pigtail with the 1/4" IMF. My problem is the female connection on the regulator is not 1/4", but 1/2". I need some sort of size reducer.

Any neighborhood hardware store can fix you up with a brass adapter. It might require two, a 1/2ip x 1/4ip bushing and then a 1/4ip x inverted flare adapter.

How old is the regulator?  Consider just replacing it.Cavagna on AmazonOr do you have something special to run a large generator or something else big on propane?
