There's a black cover on the 120v side of the unit that looks pretty difficult to remove.. perhaps when I get more time I'll try getting that open. I also found some burned wiring on the 120v output wires. There's been a lot of amps passing through there. I don't know if those connections failed and then caused the internal error..
After removing the unit I bench-tested it with a small battery and nothing on the output side. Still internal error which will not clear itself.
