For that, another way is to just leave everything on the inverter all the time, and when you need the gen for something use that in addition, such as in the battery charging situation mentioned before.
You don't have to unplug from the inverter to use the gen where whatever is being run by the gen has its own cord. Things with cords:
-converter
-MW
-WH
-Fridge
-space heater
-never looked, but does the air conditioner have a cord up in there to a receptacle up there? if so that can be run detached from the whole house and go to gen while the inverter does the rest of the rig.
For the a/c on gen and twin Hondas, don't know if the gens would have enough VA left to run a portable charger on the batteries (to add to the solar if any happening) but be a shame to waste gen time if so.
No idea about 24v--sounds like a good new thread topic though.
