Ah yes, hail... just got toad back from body shop last week - about $3900 following hailstorm damage at Cheyenne Frontier Days the end of July. SOOOO glad rig was parked in Denver - just up for the day! No glass breakage - car next to ours not so lucky... ended up with new hood, they fixed roof and fenders. Golf balls from 10,000 feet pack quite a whallop! Unless you put 1/2" of Line-X type coating, I doubt it would make a difference. I do carry several sheets of closed-cell foam about 3/8" thick in the rig (stored flat under mattress and dinette cushions) - enough to cover windshield/hood of coach if needed, but it was 90 miles away from where we were for the day. Did get quite a reaction from manager of the local body shop - they occasionally see some hail damage around here, but nothing like what we went thru!!! ST
