Protection from Power Surges-Electrical and Storm?

My Class C motor home uses 30 amps. What is the best way to prevent any damage during a storm or electrical power surges? Which surge is worst? What damage can happen in a surge? What can I buy to pre...

In a storm unplug. Nothing you can afford would protect you. Low voltage is far more of an issue. Look at an autoformer.
