Protection from Power Surges-Electrical and Storm?

My Class C motor home uses 30 amps. What is the best way to prevent any damage during a storm or electrical power surges? Which surge is worst? What damage can happen in a surge? What can I buy to pre...

Yes. And a lot more. Transient Voltage Suppressors, Gas tube discharging, small gap grounding ionization pathways. Disconnects. Ever see a Hughes Autoformer that resembles a large roast cooked at 300C? Lightning is unkind. If it strikes the high side of distribution, relay switches protect you. If it should hit X1, 2, or 3, god help you if you are connected.
