We have a duty 600WATT PURE SINE WAVE POWER INVERTER setup always ON to run all of our daily use items. Never considered any kind of MSW units. It only takes the one lost of something high dollar to eat up your day.
I am using the AIMS PSW 600WATT INVERTER from AMAZON ($259) since 2009 and it feeds a dedicated EMERGENCY USE 120VAC receptacles one located near the home entertainment setup and the other other one back by the bedroom nite table setup.
Never have to worry about what I or anyone else is going to plug into it including electric blanket controllers...
This of course does not run coffee pots, air conditioners, microwaves etc...
I have a 2000watt UPS unit in my radio/computer room in my house that the book says is a MSW unit and it runs all of my radio and computer items lights and fan motors just fine. The 60HZ sine wave produced by the UPS unit looks to be rather clean ??? Guess it all depends on the quality of the MSW units... This unit didn't cost $30 either...
