- dbatesExplorerYou need to look for a rubber coated cord. Most of those available are plastic.
Rubber is more expensive but will coil fairly well in all kinds of weather. I guess I'm lucky as my 1998 Winnebago Itasca came with a rubber cord. I'd like to get and extension but just can't justify paying the price of a rubber one.

What puzzles me though, why do you need a shore power cord? Your signature states you BOONDOCK 100% of the time. If that is the case, you have no need for a shore power cord. Boondockers don't need to plug in, as they are off the grid as there are no power poles or electrical access available. Or maybe change your signature to reflect the change you are making.

Yes, you can get all weather cords. Possibly the cheapest way is to salvage the ends from what you have and buy the cord from an Electrician, or if you can, from an electrical supply house.
