its a charger/converter, so it probably has a built in ATS (Auto Transfer switch) so when you are on shore power it will be selecting the shore power to be the supply for the rv. If the shore power shuts off then it should switch over to the inverter output to power the RV.
so if you poke around the wiring what you should see is two inlets for power, one from the shore cable and another from the batteries, and one output that runs to your power panel main AC fuse (power input) so the line that runs to your 120V breaker panel is always hot, it just might be powered from the shore power if plugged in and power is available, or it might be powering that from the inverter circuit if the shore power is dead.
