You may want to get ahold of some pros like at Arizona Wind and Sun.
Also, I also recommend you upgrade to at least 24v for any big inverter system. Smaller wire, easier to deal with and you don't have to blast hundreds of amps of 12v. You may find most of the higher-wattage name brands like Magnum and Outback( my fave) do not make 12v models in wattages over 2500.
I do like the 'whole house' approach of wiring directly to the panel. Much easier, and you can run *anything.*
