And the internal resistance of two 6 volt GC-2 batteries will be MUCH higher than with two similarly rated 12 volt batteries in parallel, exactly what one does NOT want when those batteries are feeding an inverter under heavy load. For this application the OP would be far better off with two G31 12 volt batteries wired in parallel to feed this inverter - less internal resistance by far, much less voltage drop under heavy inverter load, less likely that the inverter will alarm and shut down due to low incoming source voltage. :B
