Question on solar controller hook up?
I finished up most of my solar install today and I noticed an issue when hooking up the solar controller to the batteries. I'm using an A/B Both switch to control what bank or banks I want to run....

Spose to connect the controller to the battery first ??
Go tell the kzillion of portable users that have the panels connected permanently, so the battery gets connected LAST !!
I just made up a 50 watt portable batt charger, glued the controlled to the back of the panel, connected the panel wires permanently, added a digital voltmeter alongside the controller, and alligator clamps on a 12' wire to the battery.
Works like a champ, and all for $72.
