Question regarding charging and batteries
I have 2 six volt batteries and a power max boondocker 55 amp charger. Trailer, batteries and charger are all 2 years old
Last weekend we were camping and when I woke up Saturday morning I had a clicking coming from my power center. My voltage display was going back and forth from 12.2 - 12.3 in rhythm with the clicking. I switched off the converter and the clicking stopped. I went to Walmart and got a charger to get me through the weekend
Power max sent me a new converter right away. I installed the new one and powered it up. It went right to 14.6 v like it's supposed to. After 12 hours it was still at 14.6 V and I was concerned so I unplugged it. While waiting for another power max converter I put the original WFCO back in and as usual it sits right at 13.6 V. After 3 days plugged in my batteries are at 12.2 or so volts.
Would it really take that long to charge the 6volt golf cart batteries at 13.6 or do I have another problem somewhere? I also checked my water levels and they were only down an 1/8 inch or so
Thanks
