Questions about running generator in back of truck

I plan on carrying my Yamaha 3000iSEB in the bed of my truck. It will be in the front of the bed behind the cab. Is anyone using their generator where they could get wet while running or just driving ...

They aren't UL approved for use in the rain but from what I've read, that is only because the outlet itself is unprotected.
