I’m surprised some have used them so long without rebuilding every few years. I had to replace the impeller (nitrile) twice for vanes breaking off.
The other problem is hair building up on the shaft.
Also, you better be careful spinning the shaft; if you turn it the wrong direction, you could break off a vane.
It’s easy to take apart, clean and reassemble.
West Marine carries the gaskets and impeller.
