I don't know if the EcoW clips the amps at 20 or lets them through. I will find out with cloud effect perhaps. My old ASC shunt type 16a controller let the amps through. Saw 19 with cloud effect, eg. Never got that high with my 20a LandStar PWM to know what it did.
EP Solar's Tracer line of MPPT controllers has some sizes between 20-45 too ISTR They cost about $200.
I would like to try the $13 RJ special "fake" 12/24 MPPT controller on the 230w panel but I don't know what its voltage input limit is and I don't want to fry it. It works great as a PWM controller for my 130w panel so it is a keeper.
I will also try the EcoW on that 12v 130w where I can get a straight comparison with its Isc and the controller's amps. Can't do that with the 24v panel and MPPT.
Can't do anything now till next April as camping till then will be with no solar and sun is too low behind trees in yard to test at home.
Let's hope others will be able to report in with some interesting solar results meanwhile. :)
