I will be mounting mine in the front cargo bay where there is lots of ventilation, out of the sun, and near the batts for wire length. I can get at it from outside for the setting up buttons and to see the display. Trimetric is inside where I can see that.
I am not fussed about actual temp comp, since we don't get extreme temps while camping here in the summer and I don't use solar for Float when RV not in use. You can change the Absorb and Float voltages for your local temps as a kind of manual temp comp as often as needed too.
For storage battery maintenance, it looks like you could set Vabs and Float to the same desired float voltage? Then you wouldn't have smk's worry about too long at higher voltages daily.
