So today I got to do some testing. I wanted to give the Eco-worthy a worthy test so I drained the 8-D with a 100w bulb and inverter. I ran it for 14 hrs and had a resting voltage of 12.1v this morning. I got sun around 10:30 and the 220w panel and Eco-worthy averaged 12a in MPPT until the sun started to drop around 3. It was gone behind a house by 4:30.
Draining the 8-D was a bit overkill as a test. In 6 hours the system only managed to raise the voltage to 13.2v, The meter had gone up nearly 800 WH. The 230w panel would have been a bit better at 15a but it would have taken both systems together at altitude in the summer to make a serious dent. As it is the 12a bench charger will take a while to finish the job.
I did check VOC , IMP, SOC, mppt in relation to panel temp. I did see a small drop off after the panel hit 90 but from there to 120*f, it was smaller.
