- beemerphile1ExplorerIf you're handy you might just dismantle the door and install a solid panel.
- We_Cant_WaitExplorerI'd be a bit cautious of sealing off the battery compartment even with the AGM batteries. While they don't out gas like regular batteries there is still a bit of out gas going on. If there wasn't the batteries would bulge and possible break open.
- MEXICOWANDERERExplorerLine the inside with 20 gauge aluminum but a MALFUNCTIONING VRB can and will vent hydrogen and oxygen. Oh what a perfect thermobaric bomb that compartment would make. Want to get to Quartzite in 10 seconds flat?

I have lifeline AGM batteries that don't have to be in a vented compartment.
That's the number nine entry at the following link: Common Battery Myths. - westendExplorerIf the battery compartment is unheated or not influenced by any conductive heat transfer from another part of the structure or the sun, the battery compartment will be at ambient temperature whether you seal the compartment or not.
