Those are used in drain systems that have a ZERO space to mount a standard P trap assbly. They are used in Slide out drain lines and especially on outside kitchens that have a slide out sink in the outside compartment. If there is space for a standard P trap, the P trap is used. I personally would not want one if a P trap can be installed. Doug
