I agree with your logic. I think the Champion open frame gens have pretty well proven their worth, but the inverter adds a new level of complexity. However, it might turn out to be enough less expensive to warrant buying it and taking the chance (if I were buying a generator, which I'm not). In general, I think competition is healthy and I hope the new entry into the inverter generator field will prove to be good for consumers.
