rear backup monitor

hello I have a 2014 fourwinds class c motor home and I notice my back up camera doesn't work at night, I see that in the rear of the motorhome at the camera it has little round what I think are led lights or something that looks similar but no picture at night this camera is part of my dash radio and im thinking they all work at night. don't know if its in black or white or color because it doesn't work. aren't they all supposed to work in the dark ?
  • The small led lights are for "night vision" & yes it should be working for night. It sounds like you do have a picture on the monitor during the day. Correct ?
  • I also am wondering if you have used this camera in the daylight? The fact that you don't know if it's B&W or Color, has me wondering?

At night, do those little red lights light up? Does the monitor at the dash appear to work, or is there a blown fuse or something? Could be a broken cable to the camera too?

The fact that it's got the IR lights tells me that you should have an image at night, though it will appear to be similar to a B&W image (though may be greenish too).
You need to see if you have an image during the day, and if the monitor even works.
Once you know that, then you can let us know, and maybe we can help troubleshoot it with you. Lots of very smart folks on here!

    Good luck
  • Sometimes the illumination for such cameras is pretty feeble for nightime use; is it possible that it's working and there's just nothing close enough to be in sight? (That's assuming you know it works during the daytime, of course.)
  • Was the radio/camera's owner/operator manual included in the documentation of the new coach? If not you should be able to get the brand and model for the unit and look up the owner/operator manual on the internet.
  • thanks for the input, I found out the problem, the coach battery was bad. I changed that and it now works day and night
