By chance can you post a picture of the WD bar, the label if it still has one, and the hitch head if it is from the same vintage?

From what you listed, it is not the normal post year 2000 ratings of the actual WD bar.

By seeing the parts, may be able to back into what basic age range and that may help lead to the rating.

I believe the "round bar" versions replaced the older "square bar" versions.

The 550 lbs rating is the Tongue weight and it is for trailers a 5,500 lbs or lighter..

In other words a small, short lightweight trailer.

Unless OP has ALL the parts including the hitch head it is only worth scrap metal prices..

I have inherited a couple of WD units like that without the hitch heads, the replacement hitch heads cost more than the bars..

You have one of the older Reese trunnion bar hitches. That is an oldie.

I greatly apologize for that. I just searched picture hosting when I hosted those. I apologize.

So my main question is. I have a F350 and will be towing a 33 foot freedom express. 800 or so tongue dry. Can I use this??
