Report back: I had some time this morning to fool with it. Compressed air didn't do it, and I couldn't see any debris. The compartment looks brand new.
I tried pushing a pipe cleaner through the burner and it started working again. I will now be leaving that pipe cleaner in the compartment and know how to use it!
