refrigerator odors

It is possible that whatever caused the odor has gotten behind the walls or under the bottom of the fridge.

I lost power at home for a week while traveling. I opened up what I could and sprayed OdO-Ban-available at big box stores and Walmart. Removed all the odors after several sprayings, rinsing and fan drying. Be sure to look at the tube running from the fridge to the outside for trapped odors.

This method worked for us when our cooling unit went out while in storage and meat in the freezer rotted before we found it.

As for the fans, a properly operating frig doesn't need them IMHO.

Or you may create a whole new odor. Ha Ha Ha

If you are not moving, prop the door wide open. The more air the better to help with the odors. Yes, a fan outside blowing in will help. The little internal fans are to help even the cooling and will do little for your odor problem. There is nothing like sunshine and fresh air to kill the bacteria and mold that causes the odor.

I would say that if the peroxide/baking soda/Dawn concoction works for getting skunk odors out of clothes (don't ask how DH found that one out), it certainly should work in your fridge.

Our trailer came with a set of those blue clips, so I would assume that Camping World would have them. You just need to remember to remove them and close the doors when you are moving the trailer. They are not meant to keep the doors ajar when in motion.

This took all odors from ours after an power failure.

I would make a paste with baking soda, smear it all over, let it sit for awhile, then clean off. Lemon juice and water would be something else to try, vinegar smells itself and I don't know if I'd want the frig to smell like vinegar. I use bleach water when I clean mine.

And if the bleach doesn't get the odors out, try a 50/50 vinegar/water. Defininitely leave the door propped open any time the fridge isn't cooling.
