Refrigerator replacement ASAP

Hello all
I probably should have followed my gut and turned on the fridge well in advance of our trip.
Now we are planning to leave in 2 days and my old Norcold 662 seems to have failed. We started it up this morning and smelled ammonia this afternoon. The divider between the fridge and freezer was hot too.
So - question of urgency - Does Camping World typically have replacement models on hand?
I've got maybe a day option to delay the trip, but we're heading from NY to MO to see the eclipse and meet friends. Can't quite ask the solar system to hold off while we figure this out.

  • i think, i would leave now
stop in Elkart Indiana, and have one of the Rv places there install a new fridge
its monday, look them up on the web, make a few phones calls
    set up an appointment
you will be 2/3 of the way there to your Mo destination
    when you stop in Elkart

who built your RV ? are they in Elkart, even better !
  • I would check with local RV shop. Some can get refers overnight.
You don't say where you are so cannot help with facility.
  • Sounds like coolers are the best option in your shoes. Then you can weigh all your options including a 12 volt compressor style fridge as well as another propane. But if you are going propane again I imagine the only way you are going to get that installed is if you do it yourself. If you can find a dealer that has one in stock.
  • I've never used CW for maintenance, but they don't seem to respond well to rush situations. Call several other RV places, they will usually respond better.

    Probably best to ask them.
