Unplug it and just change the fuse- they have a tendency to heat up (because of corrosion) and the element will come unsoldered from an end cap, so they look good but are not. There should be two fuses though- the 3 amp is for the 12 volt power, and a 5 amp at the bottom of the board is for the 120 volt.
This model is also very vulnerable to high voltage- there is a large resistor on the bottom of the board- near the fuse, IIRC. This resistor will burn up with a voltage of anything over ~135 volts.
