Regulated propane quick connect -who connects what?

It's a cheap, easy selling feature that manufacturers offer (because everyone else does) that buyers find pretty useless because there are very few things made that can be connected that will operate correctly without modification. It would be more useful if they would put it on the high pressure side of the regulator.
