Can I get an accurate reading of the chassis battery's SOC while the inverter is hooked up and the engine running? I am guessing no, that there would be a surface charge that would fool my voltmeter.
Fingers crossed you never go below 13.5 volts indicating the alternator is covering the full amount. Maybe give it a go before the actual trip.
