As previously mentioned, usually older microwaves are not worth repairing and cheaply replaced. If you like fixing things yourself, and yours is still in generally good condition, go for it.

Thanks. I had already looked at magnetrons and capacitors and the magnetrons are expensive enough not to bother with. Well, at least until I found possible replacement fitment issues.
