Replacement hour meter for Onan generator?

Question

I have a 1990 Winnebago Warrior with an Onan 4000 generator.

The remote hour meter is mounted on the stove hood along with the remote start/stop switch, though the two items are separate.

I believe the meter is a "Hobbs" meter.

The hour meter has stopped working.

Is this a 110VAC or 12VDC meter?

It's a DC operated meter (10 VDC - 80 VDC)Hobbs Hour Meter

Is it possible to re-set the hours on the new meter to match the old one?Steve

It's possible, but the only way to do it is to hook it up to a battery for however many hours you want it to read.

Considering they don't last all that long anyway, I wouldn't want to pre-load it with more time.
