I've been through the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel and the Monitor Merrimac tunnel all they do is check to make sure that the valves are shut. They don't look at the dates. I usually pull up yell out the window that they're shut off and they just wave you through. Mine always are and usually are in the truck bed. I've only pull the pop-up through one. I've never pulled a travel trailer through one.
