I believe the Samsung RF197 model has been discontinued and the replacement is a bit deeper.

As far as "warranties" goes.. Really? Are you serious? Warranties for anything is a complete joke..

Try getting warranty work done on your vehicle, RV or any other major purchase item without that "warranty" COSTING YOU TIME AND MONEY..

For what it is worth Home fridges ARE far cheaper than a RV fridge and even if the home fridge only lasts TWO YEARS your ARE MONEY AHEAD.

My 10 cuft Home fridge cost me $330 out the door including sales tax, the size of RV fridge it replaced was a 9 cu ft and the replacement RV fridge was going to cost me $1500 NOT INCLUDING SHIPPING.

I quickly figured if I had to replace my home fridge every TWO YEARS I would STILL be MONEY AHEAD.. So far my home fridge is now going on 7 camping seasons.. My home fridge owes me nothing..

I went with residential. We rarely dry camp and I have a generator on board. Works out great for us. Bought it online through Home Depot, but it was still $500. I am positive the ridiculous price is only because manufacturers KNOW that RV owners are the only ones buying the odd sized ones.

ifound a haier at walmart for a friend last winter in az no shipping if you pick up at store.taking the old one out was the hardest part they have a 1970s motor home very narrow

if you mostly camp in places where you can use a/c Id never rebuild an ammonia unit .....I did once....

The control boards wouldn't be a deciding issue if it were me - they are inexpensive and tend to be reliable. Amish cooling unit would be an alternative - but whether your skilled enough to install is a factor. Replacing with electric unit maybe the easiest but whether that works for you (inverters, battery bank etc) is something to consider.

You didn't toss it did you? Look into getting a replacement cooling unit for your refrigerator.
