Apples to apples, with same size box and same insulation, 12V fridge with variable speed compressor will draw 20-30% less 12VDC than 120V fridge, if you were to run it also on 12VDC. Mostly because there is no inverter involved.
RV manufacturer will hang himself before spending extra $500-700 on 12V fridge (compared to same size 120V fridge). Even though it's usually more expensive RVs where they install 120V fridges.
