Yes, BFL13, this is exactly why I parted with a fortune for those 400 lb units (insulation). 95 ampere hours (24 hrs) @ 24 volts for both. But each are 18 cubic feet. 2.2 x the size of an 8 CF Dometic or Notcold.

Thank god I purchased them when I did, 900 lbs shipping across 8-zones would be insane today.
IMHO there is NO magic bullet refrigeration for RV boondocking. Best Choice amounts to being least offended by the compromise one chooses.
But there is zero doubt that if vacuum panels could clad the 3-way refrigerator it would be a game-changer. A maintain temperature 12-volt system would actually chill (but nowhere as good as propane) and reduction of gas usage plus useful interior air circulation to keep door shelf temperatures in the thirties on a 90+ degree day would change the whole face of the issue. But all sides would require insulation - no small task.
