Return air grills

I am trying to find a return air grill that is plastic and mounts to the ceiling and you can snap the filter out without removing the whole frame.

What I have now is a metal grill with two screws, You have to hold the filter against the back of the grill and start the screws. The screws go in to the ceiling which is just very soft 1/4 inch plywood.

I have seen the grill I am looking for on the Redwood RV but I have not been able to find anything like it on the internet.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

  • From limited photos it looks like DRV uses a 'ducted' return from curved roof near edge of side wall thru roof structure to A/C Unit mounted in center of roof........looks like a flat metal register type grill
    Something like this?

Not your typical RV direct hole thru roof job install.

    Redwood RV similar.

If Redwood is using a flip open type return grill/filter holder then contact them and inquire about purchasing one from them or their vendor

On mine there are 4 screws. you slide the filters out to get to two of them.. Are you sure yours was not designed that way?

    Photo please.
  • I have 15K dometics but the return air is just two holes cut in the ceiling about 6" by 8". I need to get the exact measurement but the holes look like the were cut with a can opener very crude.
