Point of law ??
RMA or Bridgestone web or any tire manufacture website info are recommendations only and have no enforcable statutory powers (law) of any kind when it comes to tire replacement. If you have any enforcable state or fed statutes regarding tire replacement on a trailer, other than 571 FMVSS which everyone is aware of, please post them for us.
Most vehicles on the road don't have a tire placard so its a mute point anyway.
RMA in your clicky says;
RMA tire replacment guidelines.
Tire Replacements
"Replacement tires should be the same as the OE size
designation, or approved options, as recommended
by the vehicle or tire manufacturer."
This is a guideline/recommendation only.
Bridgestone/Firestone in your clicky says:
Bridgestone Firestone replacement tire selection manual/
" If a vehicle tire placard or vehicle owner's manual is not available, consult the vehicle or tire manufacturer for assistance."
These are a recommendation only however my advise to anyone would be to forget about contacting the RV manufacture for a tire replacment recommendation as they were the ones that mounted the under rated maypops to begin with.
This website has given some excellent advise to those new folks that were having tire issues. And I imagine we will continue to do so.
I’ve not found anything in the regulations that releases the owner from following the established minimum requirements set in place with the original placard.
