The "no connections" thing is easy for them to say. The real story is that all connections have to pass power. If you look at the specs of connectors, some will pass power, some will not, and some splitters will pass power only to one of the sides. I have 2 diplexers and an A/B switch between my receiver and my VuQube. One of the diplexers and the A/B switch pass power to both sides, the other diplexer only passes power to one of the sides. My setup lets me pick easily using 2 A/B switches between cable (bypassing the receiver), satellite at home (bypassing the VuQube controller), or satellite on the road (using the VuQube controller.)
