Riddle Me This Batman; Low Frequency Hum: SOLVED

Are there any buried utility pipes close? Could be a transmitted harmonic from equipment some distance away. We were out on a cornfield once and puzzled by a repetitive noise. Followed up and down roads and finally traced it to a pumpjack miles away. I presume the underground pipeline was transmitting noise from the pressure pulses.
