Need some education. Getting all the pieces. Have a 4*2" waterproof PVC combiner box, will run AWG 12 from panels in box, and AWG 8 out to controller. Will use mechanical splicers, for lack of experie...

Just looked at all your pieces again.
I would simply drill a hole on the bottom of the J Box and bevel in a flat head screw so its flush, and maybe some JB Weld in the box to hold the buss bar. Since it goes on the roof, simply set the box in a pool of Dicor. It's not going anywhere.
