Rooftop AC unit install - Dicor around gasket?

I recently replaced the roof vent on my truck camper with an AC unit. All the installation videos I've seen show the foam gasket being installed "dry" with no caulk. Would there be any benefit ...

Foam gasket is all that is required. Never heard of anyone using Dicor sealant when replacing an AC unit.

When I replaced ours, the original only had a foam gasket and I used only the new foam gasket that came with the new unit. Never had a problem with leaks.
