My system plays pretty well together. The DC converter is a Progressive Dynamics PD9280, which is referred to as a smart charger, but while being multi stage, it's only so-so as a charger. My Trimetric 2030 constantly monitors the battery state of charge no matter what source is providing, or pulling power, and it also controls my SC2030 Solar chargers. The trimetric controls the solar system based on battery state of charge, and all sources of charge, or demand, and of course battery temperature. As a result, it can and does play quite nicely with the DC converter/charger.
