I showed this to DW but she said there is no way I'm getting a raise. I'll just have to keep on rationing the single malt. :(

Can't imagine that these would work well boondocking... I'd think they would consume too much water and electric. I also don't mind doing the dishes while camping - there's usually not that many and lots of time available. I do the dishes and cooking while my wife keeps the kids entertained and plans our activities.

We dont camp per say..we live. and no kids to worry about.

Why do people keep saying the dishwasher uses too much water? 3.6 gallons to wash up to a service of 9? You likely could not do that in a sink with that little water.

I would rather have had a dishwasher in the rig than the gas oven that will not be used for it's intended purpose. It is just used for storage now. Now, a dishwasher in it's place would be used! Your dirty dishes get put in there straight away & the kitchen area looks tidy. Then, when it's full, you run it. Voila! Clean dishes!

I'll have to ask the DH if it would be possible to take out the oven & replace it with the dishwasher drawer. When I wash the dishes by hand I continually turn it too hot & feel like I'm taking layers of skin off my hands!

I would think the biggest issue would be effective utilization. By that I mean if you only ran them when full for that load they might be efficient, but that assumes you had spares of everything and didn't have to wash one or two items for use until the dishwasher was full and then you would need extra plates, silverware, etc. For the two of us we don't have but two washable plates to use and sure don't carry enough pots and pans to no have to reuse them before say one of these dishwashers would be full enough to run efficiently.

In the overall scheme of things judicial use of paper products when called for and efficient hand washing would be the most effective option. Also, one should not be that pressed for a time saving device when camping.

Paper plates! No thanks, I will be using water to clean plates I like to eat off of. Not everyone out here is just doing a bit of weekend camping. The more time you spend in your RV the more you want the comfort and conveniences of home. We used paper plates when we were tent camping but I am not doing that these days.

Don't have one but I'll chime in. We want one. It is amazing the number of dishes and utensils used in preparing a meal, especially with company. I know we use more than four gallons washing all of them by hand. Rationing? Offending camp grounds where we pay for services?
If I were younger I would use a tent and paper plates but having worked all those years for our little coach, I want to enjoy it not spend time washing dishes, when a machine will do it.
They should fit right in where the oven is. wife seldom uses it. Uses the convection/microwave instead.
Someone here installed one?

We'd like to have one of these too but no room for it unfortunately. It would actually save us some water.

I *hate* how hot our water is! It's just too stinking hot. Moreso, I worry about the little hands getting burnt. I finally figured out- if you have winterization valves, you can adjust your water heater temperature by partially opening one of them to let cold water into the stream. It mixes in the pipes as it makes its way to the tap:
