  • Has anyone been successful, as a consumer, getting the replacement locks shipped to them? I have not tried yet, just curious if they are taking calls on this recall from consumers yet.

    thx
  • Here's the offical recall notice that has the affected part #'s so you can check yours before you call.

Mexicowanderer, I thought you might enjoy this excerpt from the beginning of the document:

.... a voluntary recall and replacement program for certain Travel Trailer Lock Deadbolt Cylinders manufactured by Zhongshan Huafeng Lock Product Co., Ltd. and sold under the FIC brand name....
  • had ths happen on our TT. Wife thoght i carelessly locked her in and she was not happy.

Guess someone owes me an applogy. ;)
  • Thank you for the post. Checked mine and ours isn't on the list but I know where to get a replacement key now.
  • By the way - thanks for posting this info - our door lock has been squirrelly since day one! Almost got locked in once and have been locked out MORE than once!
  • Since my Fiesta is right in that age range I called them. They want to know the key number (a number actually ON the key) and they can then check if your door lock is part of the recall. I will be getting this and calling them back. The lady was super nice on the phone and said if the key number is in the range of the recalled units they will send out a replacement unit.
  • We had an issue once with what was described. I'll bet ours in on the list. Thanks for the heads-up.
  • 2.9 million locks, that covers a lot of RVs. Very expensive for the manufacturer, but even more important is the start of some oversight in the RV industry. I am not a proponent of much of government intervention, but with the junk produced by the RV industry and then put on the highways, this is welcomed.
