DirectTV is much easier to set up than DishTV. You have three settings Vs two on DirectTV. I have found although the tripod works well the mast it must be very verticle for the 3 settings to work out better. I saw an RVer using a square flat frame sitting on the ground. The dish mounted to it appears easier to set up and easier to store in my RV. I saw some mounts on 4rtv.com. The ladder mount although looking good isn't practical unless my RV is pointed north. Thier tripod is pricey compared to Radioshack tripod and chain link fence post for mast.(cut off to about 4') I use tent stakes to hood down the tripod. My project is to build the flat frame approx 2' x 2' with 1/8" x 1" angle and add 4 leveling legs that are short. dish mounted on it's own bracket to the frame. I am going to mount a bubble level on the stand.
