Saw this today (fire)
We're out camping at the moment. I saw this at the campground and remembered all the discussion around refrigerator fires:

I agree that some of the fires have been caused by mechanical failure but there is way more to the story.

It is true. You have no reason to say not true based on what you provided. What you provided are possible causes just as a ruptured cooling unit is a possible cause. What you provided is good and most definitely has merit.
